Beaver’s Benchworks is a reclaimed woodworking studio founded by arborist Gary “The Beaver” Bauer and artist Matt Smith. Blending deep-rooted knowledge of trees with a passion for creative craftsmanship, Beaver’s Benchworks transforms salvaged wood into functional art and heirloom-quality furniture.
The Arborist
Born from a shared respect for the natural world, the company breathes new life into felled, forgotten, or storm-downed trees, many of which Gary personally rescued in his work as a certified arborist. With an expert eye for wood grain, species, and story, Gary ensures each piece starts with ethically sourced material, often rich in character and history.
